Sin, (Akkadian), Sumerian Nanna, in Mesopotamian religion, the god of the moon. Sin was the father of the sun god, Shamash (Sumerian: Utu), and, in some myths, of Ishtar (Sumerian: Inanna), goddess of Venus, and with them formed an astral triad of deities. However, in Modern day Christianity, sin is associated with an egregious act against their own soul. The act was established by either a higher order (i.e God) or a soul expression (intuition). Is it possible that the reason this is associated with unrighteousness, is due to the false teachings, or character flaws taught by this deity?
